So many of us have done it - babysitting that is. Babysitting is often a teenager's first job. And the American Red Cross says the task shouldn't be taken lightly.

The Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley held a babysitter's training class for teens interested in babysitting today, teaching them how to work with children safely and what to do in case of an emergency.

"These children really need to have a good, baseline understanding of safety for themselves and safety for the children they're watching, and also the security of the home that they may be in at times when they're babysitting. We try to give them all aspects of what may be demanded of them when they're out there with other people's children," says Nancy Crisino, instructor.

The 6-hour training class included hands-on activities, videos, role-plays, and group discussions.
