As many high school students had the day off today in celebration of Columbus Day some were at one area college exploring future possibilities.
Mohawk Valley Community College hosted its admissions information session at its Utica campus.
This gave many prospective students an opportunity to check out the school as well as go over admission requirements.
"I'd say you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it. You wouldn't rent an apartment or a house without looking at it. You wouldn't want to pick a school without knowing what the school is about, what programs they offer and the transferability and career options they have. We are trying to get students to realize this is a big investment in their future and financials. And we don't want them to walk into this blind," said Kendrick Morrison, Admissions Specialist at MVCC.
Students from all over the state attended the session. And if you missed today's session at MVCC, Utica College will be hosting a college night Tuesday night starting at 6:30 with over 100 college representatives.
