One Last Chance to Register to Vote

This is information released by the Oneida County Board of Elections
the BOE Announces SATURDAY, October 13 Voter Registration

Any Oneida County resident who has not yet registered to vote in the upcoming November 6, 2012 Presidential election, will have one final opportunity. The Oneida County Board of Elections will be open this Saturday at Union Station between the hours of 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Absentee ballot applications will also be available.

Both Voter registration applications and Absentee Ballot Applications are also available on the county website. Voter Registration applications must be postmarked by October 12th. Absentee ballot applications must be postmarked by October 30th; in-person Absentee ballot applications may be accepted through November 5th. Voted ballots must be postmarked by November 5th or hand-delivered to the Board of Elections prior to the close of polls on election night.

There will be a county-wide proposal on all ballots; voters are advised to check the back of the ballot. Voters in Utica also have additional proposals which are located on the back of the ballot. Ballots will be available for review at the county website: www.ocgov.net. Choose the Board of Elections drop-down and then select the 2012 General Election icon to view the ballot. All registered voters are eligible to vote in the November 6, 2012.

There are also several poll site changes to accommodate consolidations and improved locations. Voters in New Hartford who formerly voted at Immanuel Baptist Church will vote at Hughes Elementary School, 340 Higby Road, New Hartford. All other poll site changes occur in Utica as follows: Historical Apartments, Twin Towers, Steinhorst, the Fire Academy and the Fire Station at Mohawk & Arthur streets will all be voting at the Italian Heritage Club of the Mohawk Valley (The Sons of Italy) 644 Bleecker Street. Voters who previously voted at the Fire Station at Whitesboro Street will vote at Kernan School.
