CNYRC Hosts Jobapalooza

The economy is tough for many, but the Central New York Recruiting Consortium is trying to make the job hunt a little easier. Students, alumni, and community members from six Central New York colleges were invited to the first ever CNYRC Jobapalooza Career Fair this afternoon at Mohawk Valley Community College. Coordinators say it's a great opportunity for community members to speak with employers in their own backyard.

"We wanted to really emphasize through this kind of event that there are jobs available, right here in the Mohawk Valley, right here in Central New York," says Halina Lotyczewski, treasurer at Central New York Recruiting Consortium.

"I hope to gain a potential job after I graduate and it's just such an awesome atmosphere having so many employers out here. I mean I've got a couple opportunities just from coming down here," says Jerry Kalka, senior at Utica College.

Coordinators say the Jobapalooza Career Fair is now Mohawk Valley's largest career fair. Nearly 100 employers came out to connect with candidates.
