The Deputy Wyman Foundation is one step closer to building the Kurt B. Wyman Memorial Park. The Oneida County Volunteer Firemens Association presented a nearly $1,000 check to the committee this morning. They've raised about $12,000 dollars so far, while the park is expected to cost about $750,000 dollars. Committee members say every dollar goes a long way.

"Every person that comes to this park and plays will see the Deputy Kurt B. Wyman Park. And that's what this is all about. It's to help make sure his legacy is not forgotten, he didn't die in vain, and a sport he loved is being carried out in memory of him," says David Sherline, committee member.

The Memorial Park is still in the design phase but Sherline says it will have two playground areas designated for separate age groups, a stadium sized soccer field and 3 to 4 youth sized soccer fields.
