SUNYIT Launches New Cybersecurity Program For Fall 2013

By: Rachel Polansky
Updated: January 15, 2013
SUNYIT has some exciting news for students pursuing the cybersecurity field. The school will be launching a cybersecurity graduate degree program next fall. Building on their undergraduate cybersecurity program, the master's program will serve students just beginning their careers or those seeking career advancement opportunities at their current jobs.

"People with the special training in cybersecurity, network and computer security are in high demand throughout both the private and public sector. And in the Mohawk Valley we have a special need for people who are trained in cybersecurity, because of the existence of the Rome air-force research laboratories," says John Marsh, Chair of Computer and Information Sciences at SUNYIT.

Marsh says educating the workforce for these positions will also support the governments' efforts to attract professionals to our region. And applications for fall admissions are now being accepted.
