Community members came together for the 30th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel in Utica.

Nearly 400 people came to the luncheon to celebrate and remember Dr. King. Awards were also given to people who have done work to better the community and to students in honor of their academic achievements.

"Civil rights has been around and has been a struggle and the struggle does continue. So I think changing people's lives, changing people's hearts, bringing people together. This is something that this program does every year. It brings a lot of people from the community together. And they all get here and we all live together, sit together, talk together," says Richard Davis, President of Mohawk Valley Frontiers Club.

Reverend Marilyn Bell of St. Paul's Baptist Church was the featured guest speaker. And the luncheon was sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Frontiers Club.
