Around Central New York: Snow Ridge in Turin
By: Joe Parker
Updated: February 28, 2013
Joe travels north to Turin, and spoke with Michael Sabatini, the mountain manager at Snow Ridge. Sabatini also operates Michael's at the Candlelight, a restaurant at the base of the ski hill. Snow Ridge dates back to 1945, and is one of the oldest ski resorts in New York State. In addition to talking with Sabatini, Joe rode the chairlift and checked out the facilities at Snow Ridge, which include a ski school, wax house, bunny hill, and T-bar. Snow Ridge enjoys the benefits of lake effect snow. But when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, Snow Ridge can make snow and there is lighting for night skiing.
