Many Central New Yorkers spend their summer days at sylvan beach amusement park. But, have you ever heard rumors that it may be haunted?
A reported increase in ghost sightings and paranormal activity had the famous SYFY TV show "Ghost Hunters" come to Central New York. The team investigated the amusement park and Yesterday's Royal Restaurant.
Pat Goodenow has been working at Sylvan Beach Amusement Park ever since he was a teenager.
"A lot of times you hear footsteps running towards you or by you," said Goodenow.
And through the years, he says he's had plenty of experiences with ghosts or paranormal activity at Yesterday's Royal Restaurant where he works as the manager.
"People pounding on the walls or something pound on the walls and there is no one in the building. We had bar glasses fly off the bar with no one apparently near them," explained Goodenow.
Pat says most of the incidents happen late at night when he's by himself. But, customers say they've encountered spirits too.
Some say they've seen a Victorian style lady looking out the window looking out into the lake.
"We've had a couple come in through the front door for dinner and one of them said to the server and said there is something about this building that bothers me and I wanted to talk to somebody before I came into the building," said Goodenow.
Pat says he's never believed in ghosts before, but with so many personal encounters he's changed his mind.
The "Sylvan Beach" Ghost Hunter's episode is scheduled to air tonight at 9 p.m. on the SYFY Channel.
