Some seniors concerned with proposed Utica tax increase

Utica residents could be seeing a nearly four percent tax increase.

That 3.75% increase is part of Mayor Rob Palmieri's proposed 2013-2014 budget.

He presented his budget last week, and since, there's been some concerns of the tax increase by residents.

On Wednesday night, residents who live in Utica got to express how they feel about the budget.

One resident says for seniors on a fixed income, any sort of increase would hurt their wallet.

"I hope the people that are in charge will realize just how much of a senior community we live in, and actually fear more of their thoughts on how the quality of life for seniors is occurring in the city," said Barbara Mickler.
