Milwaukee, Wis.( WFRV) - Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is getting ready to face off against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in an historic recall election June 5th.

Barrett defeated three other Democratic candidates to win the recall primary Tuesday. He got the general recall campaign started by joining with those candidates to hold a joint news conference Wednesday morning.

Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, State Senator Kathleen Vinehout and Wisconsin Secretary of State Doug LaFollette all said they would do what they could to help Barrett defeat Walker in June.

The group showed its unity outside Barrett's house. Barrett said he also wants to unify neighbors, office workers and family members who have stopped talking because of all the fighting in the state over Gov. Walker's collective bargaining changes. Those changes, that curbed union rights for public workers, spurred statewide protests last spring, and the current recall efforts.

Barrett says Governor Walker has not been good for Wisconsin..
