WROC-TV Announces Debate Between Brooks And Slaughter

By: WROC-TV
Updated: November 7, 2012
WROC-TV and the League of Women Voters Rochester are proud to announce a debate between Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D) and County Executive Maggie Brooks (R), both vying for the U.S. House of Representatives seat in what will become the 25th district.

This is the first and only debate both of the candidates have committed to in this campaign.

"The LWV's primary purpose of sponsoring debates is to enable our voting public," said league president Georgia DeGregorio.

"It is important for us to present the type of forum," WROC-TV news director Bryan Queen said. "It enables the voting public the opportunity to understand the issues and candidates' positions on these issues."

News 8 will air the live debate on October 30th at 7 p.m., one week from the general election. Nazareth College will host the debate. More details will be released at a later date.
