Wednesday night's debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney is proving to be a boost for the GOP.

According to most polls, it was Romney who stood out. A CBS News poll taken right after the debate showed 46 percent of respondents thought the former Massachusetts Governor 'won' the debate. Just 22 percent of respondents thought the President won.

The day after the debate, local Democratic officials said the numbers won't hurt their efforts in Allen County.

"I think during the next debate [President Obama] is going to come across as more of a candidate," said John Court, president of the Allen County Democratic Party. "He's really going to start firing off at Romney and being able to pinpoint the differences between the two.

President Obama has been criticized by some experts for not going on the attack against Mitt Romney. Romney's experience as Governor of Massachusetts and CEO of Bain Capitol were largely left out of last night's debate.

The candidates have two more opportunities to show off their credentials -- the next debate will be held on October 5th in New York.
