Christmas is now just one week away. Tonight, one central Arkansas military family is whole for the first time in a while. And for one young man, having his dad back was a big surprise.
When teachers at Center Valley Elementary school learned Sgt. Bobby Ball was coming home early from being stationed in South Korea, they decided to hold a big assembly to surprise his son, 5-year-old Kellen Ball.
"He had no idea I was coming in for Christmas!" Sgt. Ball said, "The school... went above and beyond."
During the assembly, the teachers called Kellen's up to unwrap a giant box. As he finished ripping the paper, out popped his dad -- the best present he could get.
"He's definitely a daddy's boy," Sgt. Ball said, "He wants to jump out of airplanes just like daddy does."
The school thanked Ball for his service, and was more than happy to provide this special moment for the Ball family -- especially Kellen.
"I think this is going to be a Christmas he won't forget!" Sgt. Ball said.
