RFA softball team bounces back from loss

The Rome Free Academy softball squad rebounded from Wednesday’s season-opening loss to Fayetteville-Manlius with a 10-6 non-league victory over Proctor High on Friday in Utica.

Halie Schoff captured the win in her first varsity start and gave up seven hits while recording a strikeouts with no walks.

Kaysie Gregory led the Lady Knights attack with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs, and Leigh Shoemaker added two RBIs as well. Allyson Eggan also scored three runs, while Danielle Pauba scored two.
