The Utica Clubbers Take on Syracuse in “The 315 Throwdown”

The women of Central New York Roller Derby (CNYRD) proudly present THE UTICA CLUBBERS VERSUS ASSAULT CITY ROLLER DERBY (Syracuse, NY) in “The 315 Throwdown” at the JFK Civic Arena in Rome, NY on Sunday September 19th. This is CNYRD’s last home bout of the 2010 season and they intend to end it in style—in 315 style, that is. Come out and watch this throwdown between two roller derby teams too fierce to share an area code or a Thruway. S-Dot and Ida Feltersnatch will be announcing, and music will be provided by DJ Deaf Geoff and Heather Case. This is your last chance to see live roller derby action in Central New York in 2010!

The doors open at 2:00 pm and the whistle is at 3:00 pm. Cost of admission is $12 at the door for adults. Advance tickets may be purchased for $10 each at www.ticketderby.com, at the Tramontaine Cafe and Café Domenico in Utica, and at Bill's Variety at 504 West Thomas St. in Rome (315-336-9261). There is free admission for children under 10 and adults over 65. The JFK Civic Arena is located at 500 W. Embargo St., Rome, NY. CNYRD is a proud supporter of the YWCA domestic violence shelter. One dollar of each ticket sold at the door during 2010 home bouts will be donated to benefit the shelter, which we believe furthers our mission of women’s empowerment.

About Central New York Roller Derby: Founded in December of 2007, CNYRD is a non-profit organization comprised of two teams, The Utica Clubbers and The Blue Collar Betties. CNYRD is skater owned and operated and is run democratically. CNYRD’s mission is to foster community, sportswomanship, and athleticism; to foster the proliferation of roller derby as a sport; to represent Central New York State in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in local, regional, national, and international competition; to foster empowerment of women; to instill a sense of sisterhood, loyalty, hard work, and competitiveness among our skaters, and a sense of family among our organization as a whole.
