The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce that former New York Mets and Yankee star Dwight Gooden will be their guest and the featured speaker at this January’s Hall of Fame Dinner Banquet to be held at the Knights Inn in Little Falls on Friday, January 21st. Doors will open at 5:15 P.M. with Dwight Gooden available for autographs at 5:30 P.M. with dinner and live auction to follow. The evening will conclude with the induction of the newest members being inducted into the Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame. Inductees will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for this great night of hot stove baseball are available for $40 each for adults, $20 for children under 12 or $275 for a table of eight and can be

The evening is highlighted by the Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. A fantastic live auction is part of the evening’s festivities featuring valuable gifts donated by local merchants and supporters. The event is being sponsored by the Herkimer Diamond Mines and Audio Bookshelf.
Dwight Gooden Facts
Also known as Doc Gooden or Dr. K, he was one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in Major League Baseball in the middle and late 1980s
In 1984, Gooden became the youngest player at the age of only 19 to appear in an All-Star Game
In 1984, Gooden was voted the national League Rookie of the Year
In 1985, Gooden pitched one of the most statistically dominating single seasons in baseball history. Leading Major League Baseball with 24 wins, 268 strikeouts, and a 1.53 ERA on his way to became the youngest-ever player to ever win the Cy Young Award.
In 1986, Gooden became the youngest pitcher to start an All-Star Game at 21 years, seven months and 30 days of age.
