The Mohawk Valley baseball league (MVL) will be looking to expand it's base of operations in 2011 as it heads into it's 18th season of competitive play. The league is based primarily in Oneida County but is looking to expand into Herkimer and Lewis counties as well. The league is open to anyone 18 years or older that is available for mostly weekend games.
The MVL offers competitve wood bat baseball with home fields available in your home town. The season runs from May through August and features 20+ games of baseball action. Teams that qualify participate in post-season playoffs and a championship game and can qualify for league awards. Teams also can participate in exhibition games vs. local college teams. Teams or players can also sign-up to participate in Holliday tournaments in places like Maine, Vermont and Cape Cod.
The MVL is looking for teams, players and/or coaches to join for the 2011 season. Rome, Camden, Herkimer, Boonville, Lowville, Utica, Ilion and Oneida have currently shown interest in entering new teams for this season and we would like you to let us know if you want in! Contact us ASAP and please spread the word!!
Organizational meetings for new applicants start in December and interested players are encouraged to contact league president Mark Minicozzi as soon as possible.
