With the Special Election coinciding with the Primary Elections today, some voters found it a little confusing.

Some voters were at St. Thomas Church today in New Hartford where at least a couple of voters thought they were being denied their right to vote.

Mary Sheheen, the director of the voting polls at St. Thomas, says people need to remember that this is a Republican mayoral race.

"I'm teriibly sorry they were confused and it's wonderful that they made the attempt to come out to vote. However, this is a Republican Primary. So, if you are registered as a Democrat, you will not be voting this primary," said Sheheen.

Registered Democrats will be able to vote in the General Election come November. Also, if you do not live in the 116th District, you will not be able to vote for that assembly race.

Polls will be open until 9 o'clock tonight, so you still have a couple more hours to vote for the Primary and Special Election.
