Power Outage in New Hartford and Clinton area

UPDATE:

A transformer fire in Kirkland causes major power outage.

Thousands of residents in New Hartford and Clinton area were without power this afternoon. According to National Grid, about 5,000 residents were in the dark around 2:30 p.m.

A majority of residents did get their power restored, but more than a thousand residents still remain without power.

National Grid says crews are on the scene working out the issue.
