Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced that he will be appointing Attorney Gregory J. Amoroso of Rome as the new Oneida County Attorney.
Amoroso will be replacing current Oneida County Attorney, Linda Dillon, who will be retiring from the position by the end of this year.
Picente says Amoroso is highly qualified to provide the type of leadership that is necessary in the office of the County Attorney.
"The Office of the County Attorney is one that is vital to the functioning of county government through the advice and counsel provided to all County offices. I know that Greg will continue the high standards set by Linda and her predecessors," says Picente.
The appointment will require confirmation of the Board of Legislators at their first regular session in January 2012.
