A new committee will be implemented in the City of Utica
starting next year. Mayor-elect Robert Palmieri is adding an Ad-Hoc Quality of Life Committee to
address quality of life issues in the city like drugs, prostitution and nuisance
properties.
The committee will focus on day-to-day neighborhood and business problems like
codes enforcement and animal control.
In order to spur economic growth and a vibrant economy, the Mayor-elect says
the City of Utica needs to create a pleasant and safe environment for people to
live and work.
The committee will convene in the next two weeks to begin addressing Quality of
Life issues in the City. The goal is to have an assessment ready for the Mayor's
review by the end of March next year.
