When July eighth rolls around runners will not only trek through Utica, some will be running over six thousand miles away. Troops will be participating in the fifth annual boilermaker shadow run in Afghanistan. Today the boilermaker announced they will be sending t-shirts to one hundred and fifty runners. In conjunction with the shadow run the boilermaker will also sell t-shirts at the expo to benefit the Central New York center for veterans.Project Director Teresa Fava-Schram says, "I'm sure a lot of them are missing home, obviously, and they're missing the Boilermaker because a lot of them do run it. And this is a great way to boost the morale of there and for us to remember them on the same day, so it's an honor to be a part of it." There will only be one hundred and fifty t-shirts for sale during the expo.
