In this week's edition of Around Central New York with Joe Kelly, Joe travels to Norwich, which is home to the Northeast Classic Car Museum and its collection of 180 cars. The museum is an educational facility that collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits vehicles related to the evolution of transportation, with particular emphasis on the role of the automobile and its impact on American culture. Cars on display include Auburns, Cords, Duesenbergs, Packards, Desotos, Franklins and your favorite cars from the 1950s and '60s. Most visitors spend a minimum of 90 minutes in the museum. The Northeast Classic Car Museum is a non-profit corporation, chartered by the New York State Department of Education. The museum is funded by generous private and corporate donors, fund-raising efforts, and by admissions and gift shop sales. The museum is located on Rexford Street in Norwich. Go to www.classiccarmuseum.org for more information.

Our nation’s best make significant sacrifices while serving in our military to help preserve our freedom and way of life.

From Afghanistan to Iraq, Desert Storm to Kuwait, Vietnam, Korea or World War II, our sons and daughters have sacrificed to serve our country all over the world.

On Monday nights, WUTR Eyewitness News at 6 and CNYhomepage.com will honor chosen submissions of hometown mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers during our on-going Hometown Heroes campaign.

We will honor Hometown Heroes stemming from the nominations that we receive from our community. Each Hero will be featured on air and right here on CNYhomepage.com.
