With the winter weather quickly approaching, this means some golfers will be putting away their clubs for the season.

But, Eyewitness News Reporter Jennifer Lee explains how one organization is keeping the sport alive all year long.

It may be every golfer's dream to play throughout the winter. For Steven Naegele, President of Custom Tool & Model Corporation in Frankfort has made it happen.

An avid golfer himself, he decided to build "The Golf Box" behind his business.

With more than 50 premiere golf courses to choose from, you can be playing at Pebble Beach in California from Central New York.

"you hear the birds chirping. It' 20 degrees outside or colder. You come inside you can swing with a club and wear your own shoes. You just feel great about playing golf in the winter," said John Piseck, an Sales Engineer at CTM.

The building is climate controlled; you can use the simulators to hone your skills or just play for fun.

There are two high speed digital cameras that read the markings on the golf ball that determine your shot, speed and direction of the golf ball.

"The virtual golf is you are trying a different hole each time. You can actually hit a whole in one too. I've seen it happen. You put the ball, chip the ball and you drive the ball," said Piseck.

There is no waiting around or riding out in a golf cart to go look for your ball. Even beginners can have a chance at playing the game.

The Golf Box recently has upgraded their simulators and people can soon start forming leagues for the winter.
