There are some changes and additions coming to the Utica Zoo.

The zoo announced it's moving it's Red Fox Exhibit over to the Children's Zoo this Spring.

Executive Director, Andria Heath says "Sherlock" the red fox will fit in with it's newest mini barn exhibit called "A day in the life on the farm."

She says there will be storyboards to show how a fox interacts with a farm and the measures a farmer has to take to protect their livestock.

"Zoo animals are often exotics, and it's important for children to learn about all kinds of animals in our ecosystem and on the family farm we are talking about domestic animals which are local and it's just one more way that children can learn about animals and really enjoy them," said Heath.

The zoo received donations for the new exhibit from First Niagara Bank, The Hartford, and Utica Zoo Docent, Joe Robinson.

Construction is set to begin this week.
