It's said "a picture is worth a thousand words," and one area agency believes just that. Several photographers have joined together to form Help-Portrait, a unique group giving back to the community for the holidays.

Tomorrow afternoon, people can head to the Leaf, Loaf, and Ladle in Utica, have their portraits taken, and leave with a beautiful printed portrait for free.

"There's some people that are sad during the holidays, some people that cant afford a family portrait. So we're really just hoping to bring people together and spread some holiday cheer. It's just an amazing idea and a great way for photographers to give back to there communities," says Janelle Rodriguez, Help-Portrait coordinator.

That's tomorrow from 11am- 3pm at the Leaf, Loaf, and Ladle on Genesee Street in Utica.

On Monday nights, WUTR Eyewitness News at 6 and CNYhomepage.com will honor chosen submissions of hometown mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers during our on-going Hometown Heroes campaign.

We will honor Hometown Heroes stemming from the nominations that we receive from our community. Each Hero will be featured on air and right here on CNYhomepage.com.
