Hometown Hero Eric Threadgill

Captain Eric Michael Threadgill, of Utica, graduated from Proctor High where he was a member of the ROTC program throughout his high school years. Before that, he was in the civil air patrol since elementary school.

Eric is the son of Debbie Threadgill, of Utica, and Eric Scott Threadgill of Holland Patent. He has two sisters, Halie and Alexis, and one canine buddy called Sam.

Eric has served in the United States Army for 4 years. He joined just after completing his political science degree at Utica College.

He was deployed to Iraq for a year, and then served another year in Afghanistan, but was able to be home for the holidays.

While serving with the military police in dangerous territory overseas, Eric was an advisor for the Afghanistan Police and earned the rank of Captain.

In his limited spare time, Eric enjoys bowling, games and some Irish music.

He is a proud career officer and will be stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with the 716th Military Police Battalion, and one day may call Central New York home - again. Certainly his mom hopes so.
