One area organization is honoring one of its late employees through a scholarship fund.

JZ Analytics, a polling and research firm is keeping John Bruce's legacy alive by donating to the SUNYIT foundation in his name. Bruce is a SUNYIT graduate

John Zogby, the senior analyst at JZ Analytics says this is a fitting way of giving back to the school.

The money will provide a scholarship to future computer science students.

"Students always need money for scholarships and they also need encouragement. And I think to get encouragement from real names in the case of John Bruce a student should get that encouragement who took his education and hit a home run with it," said Zogby.

Another donation has also been made in honor of John Zogby's wife's parents.

That scholarship is geared towards nursing students.

On Monday nights, WUTR Eyewitness News at 6 and CNYhomepage.com will honor chosen submissions of hometown mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers during our on-going Hometown Heroes campaign.

We will honor Hometown Heroes stemming from the nominations that we receive from our community. Each Hero will be featured on air and right here on CNYhomepage.com.
