Community members kicked off the 11th Annual Chili Challenger Thursday morning.

The actual challenge is set for February 10th, but we got a look at what to expect this year.

There will be professionals and amateurs cooking their way to try and win the competition.

It's hosted by the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Red Cross to raise money to help provide relief to victims of disasters.

"We responded to over 88 fires last year, and although we have wonderful staff and great volunteers throughout the community, we also need the financial support so an event like The Great Chili Challenge, it's a wonderful opportunity to raise those needed funds to make it happen," said Jennifer Balog, the Community Chapter Executive for the Mohawk Valley American Red Cross.

The challenge will be at Francesca's Banquet and Catering in Ilion.
