As we've reported, the Governor proposed a 6% cut to the Office Of People With Development Disabilities. Area non-profit human service agencies like the Arc have been urging lawmakers to reconsider the cut. And on Monday, the Senate approved their state budget that restored the $120 million dollars the Governor proposed to cut.

Today, the Arc Oneida-Lewis chapter held a "Thank You" breakfast for all those who have been supporting them.

"We wanted to say thank you and ask them to continue working with their leadership and the governor so the full 6% is restored. People are relying on the Arc and non profit businesses like the Arc for daily services to maintain their quality of living," Rosemary Spriggs, Arc Oneida-Lewis staff.

Senator Joe Griffo, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney and hundreds of community members were in attendance.
