Shoveling, plowing and snow blowers all come with the territory in Central New York.

"You never know what March is going to be," said North Utica resident, Barb Smith.

A late winter storm has made it's way to the area keeping people like Ernie Yager busy clearing the driveway.

"I'm tired of it....tired of shoveling," he said.

All of the shoveling can get a little old for some, but others are looking on the bright side, dreaming of warmer days ahead.

"I know it's almost over," said David Paratore of Deerfield. "I saw robins two days ago. They were here early so that's okay, I'm handling it."

Paratore is not just clearing the house for himself.

"I'm doing it for my wife. Today is her birthday....so I'm making sure the driveway is extra clean for her," he said.

The weather last year was a much different sight then Tuesday, with record setting temperatures.

But, Barb Smith says she prefers it this way, snow and all.

"It's more normal. The 80 degrees is like July. I don't want July in March," she said.
