Eyewitness News Talks With American Graduate Student In Tel Aviv, Israel

Eyewitness News reporter Rachel Polansky speaks with an American graduate student studying abroad at Tel Aviv University in Israel. She experienced her first attack Wednesday night as explosions rumbled through Gaza City and Southern Israel. She tells Eyewitness News about her experience.

"I was sitting in class and the sirens went off in Tel Aviv, which is a code red. And we have 1.5 minutes to get to a bomb shelter. There were about 40 or 50 of us, mostly students in their 20s; Israelis, Americans, Europeans. We were just kind of looking at each other. Some people were crying and I was just trying to stay calm. I never realized what peace meant and what a calm society meant until I have to live without it," says Jacqueline Kelly, American graduate student at Tel Aviv University.
