Rome Considers New Energy Program

"It's potentially a source of the city of Rome to buy electrical power at a cheaper rate and if we can save any money at all in these these tough budgetary times, that's a move in the right direction because we needed to be finding these types of expense savings situations," says Frank Anderson, Rome Councilmen, R-5.
If the council approves the agreement, Rome will be the first municipality to buy electricity from the state. And if it is a success, the program may expand to other municipalities in our area.
