While the Mount Markham Central School District looks for a new superintendent, they've decided to do something different in the mean-time.

Mount Markham's Board of Education appointed Robert Service to fill the interim superintendent position. Service is currently the interim superintendent for Brookfield Central School District. The two districts will be sharing the same superintendent temporarily.

"Mount Markham has done some sharing facilities and what not with Brookfield. They knew Brookfield has a superintendent that worked less than full time, and thought the opportunity might exist for them to share superintendents on an interim basis and so, that's what they did," says Mark Vivacqua, search consultant and Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES District superintendent.

Service will start January 1st and fill in at Mount Markham while they search for a permanent replacement. The board is hoping to have a new superintendent by May.
