One area organization will be hosting their fourth annual "Festival of Trees for America's Military Heroes" event this weekend.

The Ladies Auxiliary in Yorkville will be fundraising for area veteran's programs. This Sunday, the community is welcomed at the New York Mills senior community center.

Attendees can participate in a silent auction for fully decorated Christmas trees and themed gift baskets.

"It's a great time to boost our morale to help out the children who are of the veterans who are deployed. They get to celebrate and they get to know that there are people out there thinking of them. We get to thank them for their service," said Audrey Manolescu, one of the organizers.

The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item.

Refreshments and entertainment will be provided. Doors open at noon and the event runs until 7 in the evening.
