Two area organization's partnership is helping some children stay warmer this winter season.

100 brand new coats and pairs of boots were distributed today to ten area elementary schools. The united way has been receiving donations from Herb Phillipson's every year.

One recipient school says this will go a long way for some of their students.

"Some of the kids are wearing clothes that are too small, too big or not warm enough. They are going to school without winter coats. They come to school with sweatshirts and sweaters. This donation will really help our kids. It will allow them to go out at recess and at home and keep warm throughout the winter months," said Kate Entwistle of Mt. Markham Elementary School.

Other recipients were Herkimer, Dolgeville, and Forestport Elementary.
