From the presidential election to deadly shootings throughout the year, 2012 offered a number of memorable moments from the summer Olympics in London to the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. We saw the jump from space by Felix Baumgartner and the Costa Concordia President Obama became the first president to publically support gay marriage. And bath salts captured Central New York's attention. But many thought recent tragic events stood out the most.

Leslie Smith of New Hartford says, "It was really just about I think, the kids and the shooting and that's the most recent thing that's happened and I think that's the thing that sticks in my mind the most. And it's sad and it's Christmas but its hopeful for next year."

Alice Barber of Tarrytown says, "There was a lot happening in 2012 but the two most important things happened in my family's life is two of our children got married. Our daughter Dana got married in May and our son Anthony got married in September."
