Tonight St. Joseph and St. Patrick's Church celebrated the first feast day of St. Marianne cope. Saint Cope was declared a saint in October of last year by pope benedict. She lived in Utica and attended the old St. Patrick's Church. Tonight hundreds turned out for the first celebration of her feast day.

John Pletl of Utica says, "It's amazing to have a saint that comes from your parish and the fact that she came from this parish and she grew up in this area and she worked in this area and walked the streets in this area is just unbelievable."

Saint Marianne Cope is one of only 12 Americans to be canonized and the 5th from New York.
