United Way and Friends of Rachel Club team up for "A Day of Caring"

The United Way and Frankfort Schuyler's Friends of Rachel Club came together on Thursday for "A Day of Caring."

The two partnered up at The Folts Home in Herkimer to make different Valentine's Day crafts with residents there.

Along with making crafts, there was also a mini concert put on.

Students in the Friends of Rachel Club say it's a great feeling to be able to do this for the residents.

"Not only are they here working with the residents, but they're helping the residents make gifts that they will then give to others. Their motto is to start a chain reaction of positive things," said Brenda Episcopo, Executive Director of The United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.

"To know that we're helping other people be happy, they're coming up to us and giving us hugs and expressing love," said Frankfort-Schuyler students, Megan Breit.

The United Way says this will hopefully be the first of many times they partner up with The Friends of Rachel Club.
