It's the first Friday of Lent, and that means fish markets in the area are busy preparing for "Fish Fry Friday."

Eyewitness News stopped by Kossuth's Fish Market in Utica.

They say when it comes to people getting their fish fry, today is one of the busiest days for it.

The manager says they've been getting ready for the day since the morning.

"It's a busy day, it starts at 7 o'clock in the morning. We're already starting to get everything prepared. We open the doors at eight, and believe it or not we've even had our first customers come inf or fried fish at 9 o'clock this morning," said Manager, Francesco Affatigato.

The employees say they look forward to the kick off every year.
