Cornhill Neighborhood Association Plans Annual Cornhill Cleanup

By: Rachel Polansky
Updated: March 19, 2013
While it may not seem like it today, spring is almost here. And when that show melts away, the Cornhill Neighborhood Association says all the accumulated trash and litter hidden during the winter will be all over our yards. Group members met today to discuss the 20th Annual Cornhill Cleanup.

"Good way to get area cleaned up and sets an example for others seeing people getting together so when we don't have a cleanup, they can still clean the stuff up themselves. It's a big city so we need as many people as possible," says Kevin Shanley, Utica resident.

The Cornhill Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th as part of an Earth Day event.

hometown heroes

Our nation’s best make significant sacrifices while serving in our military to help preserve our freedom and way of life.

From Afghanistan to Iraq, Desert Storm to Kuwait, Vietnam, Korea or World War II, our sons and daughters have sacrificed to serve our country all over the world.

Nominate someone who you think should be a "Hometown Hero."

On Monday nights, WUTR Eyewitness News at 6 and CNYhomepage.com will honor chosen submissions of hometown mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers during our on-going Hometown Heroes campaign.

We will honor Hometown Heroes stemming from the nominations that we receive from our community. Each Hero will be featured on air and right here on CNYhomepage.com.
