Keeping Healthy: Little Falls Primary Care

"We have more space, more exam rooms, we can see patients more efficiently, we can have their lab work done more efficiently.

Little Falls Primary Care opened its doors this summer, and Dr. Amy Grace says patients love the facility. It gives them easier access - and says it should make a significant difference in the community.

"There's a need for more primary care availability in the Mohawk Valley particularly in Little Falls...there are people in the community who have a hard time finding a health care provider; there is a shortage in the area and we're hoping we can accommodate everybody," she says.

And finding a primary care physician is something Dr. Grace says is important.

"Hopefully this will increase access to primary care and preventative services and if we can take a more active role in preventing disease processes we can keep people healthier."

The facility is not only important for those who work there and the patients, but for attracting health care providers to the area.

"Well I think having an appealing facility is helpful in the recruiting process it also gives us more states to accommodate students...and if you can have students come to rural areas and see what it's like to practice in rural area they are more likely to choose a career in a rural area."
