An Oneida County man is $1-million dollars richer! New York state lottery presented 65-year-old Philip Domser with a $1-million dollar prize check today at the Byrne Dairy in North Utica. That's where he won big earlier this year playing the "Sweet Million" game. Domser, a retired firefighter, says he will keep his part-time job as a school bus driver for the Whitesboro Central School District. He tells us how he found out about the big news.
"I looked and saw the numbers and I saw that they were drawing from the North Utica Byrne Dairy and I went out to my truck, got the ticket off the dashboard and the numbers started checking out. You all hope to get that one ticket, and you never know," says Domser.
He says he plans to pay bills with his new fortune and will decide how to spend the rest once the "shock wears off."
