The old Erie canal gave pioneers a way out west. The canal ran along the path of today's Oriskany boulevard in Utica and went through Yorkville , Whitesboro, and Syracuse ending at lake Erie. An original building on the canal is where we find Joe Kelly in this weeks around central New York.
