Human Technologies Corporation, a manufacturing company based in Utica, has just been awarded more than a $2.5 million dollar federal contract.

The company will be making chemical helmet covers for the U.S. military. And this will mean jobs for our area. Six to eight new sewing and production positions will be created, and we're told eventually, over 280,000 helmets will be shipped over to the Defense Logistics Agency.

"We're always actively seeking new opportunities to do manufacturing. Our main role here in Utica and southern tier in Syracuse is job creation so this gives us the opportunity to create new jobs and bring in new revenue for the corporation," Gregory Frank, Chief Operating Officer of Human Technologies Corporation.

Production is set to begin in January 2013, and carry through August.
