One person airlifted to hospital after being hit by car in town of Columbia

One person has been airlifted to an area hospital after a car crash in the town of Columbia Tuesday evening.
The crash happened around 4 o'clock near the intersection of State Route 28 and Mckoons Road in Herkimer County.
Authorities tell Eyewitness News a woman driving southbound on Route 28 hit a man in a wheelchair attempting to cross the road.
Roads surrounding the scene were blocked off earlier tonight. There is no word yet on the condition of the man in the wheelchair.
