And with the large amounts of snow also comes work... and play. Some area residents spent the day shoveling, snow-blowing and
snow-plowing. But one Deerfield family spent a fun day together. They
say they're taking advantage of their time stuck in the house.
"It's good for the kids, they're looking forward to the sledding and stuff. Shoveling part is not the fun part. But it's good for Christmas, have a nice white Christmas. So we're happy I guess for now," says Shawn McQueeney, Deerfield resident.
"Get to spend time with your family, you get to go sledding, and make snowmen, it's just a lot of fun," says Ian McQueeney, Deerfield resident.
But it's not all fun. Due to the snow, the city of Utica is still under a snow emergency. A parking ban will be reinstated tonight at 10. At this time, all vehicles must once again be off city streets.
