Ilion resident, Charles Wilson hasn't missed a merger vote.

"It's my duty to do it," he said.

On Tuesday, he'll be back to Ilion High School to vote once again.

Tuesday is the vote for residents of Ilion and Mohawk to decide if the two districts should merge.

There was a failed attempt with Frankfort-Schuyler and another with Herkimer.

Now, some say two is the winning number.

"I'm hoping it's positive, and I'm hoping it's going to go through," said Steph Mosher, a parent at Mohawk. "There's just going to be so many other opportunities for the kids too."

But others disagree.

"I think what's going to happen is they're going to get the money, spend it all as they get it and it's not going to keep them out of debt," said Wilson.

Throughout the process, Ilion Superintendent, Cosimo Tangorra says he's confident that they've done everything possible to get information out to residents.

Whether they vote yes, or no, he says he just wants to see people at the polls.

"We're asking not only everyone who voted last time to come back out, but those that stayed home as well. We really want to involve as many community members as we can," said Tangorra.

Over fifty hospitals and health care centers are getting a piece of $26 million.
